The 2nd Annual PEAK PERFORMANCE Athlete Development Camp was held on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend (September 5-6, 2009) at the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Convention Center in Warwick, Rhode Island.  The event, sponsored by VISION USA and sanctioned by USA Taekwondo, was a resounding success.  USA National Team Head Coach Juan Moreno directed the camp and put together a superb Olympic-style sparring curriculum.  The coaching staff consisted of National Team Coaches Peter Bardatsos, Eui Lee, Dong Lee and Christina Bayley along with current National Team member Antony Graf.

A total of 90 ATHLETES from the United States and Canada participated in the camp. There were 21 STATES  represented including:  Arizona, California, Puerto Rico, Nebraska, Texas, Iowa, Florida, Minnesota, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.  Along with the competitors, numerous Taekwondo instructors and approximately seventy-five parents were in attendance.  We were also honored to have as special guests three officials of the Nigerian Taekwondo National Team.

Following the camp, an AWARD CEREMONY & RECEPTION was held for the coaches, athletes and parents.  Recipients of the Outstanding Performance Award included: Jeremy Raymer from Indiana – Senior Division (male), Alyssa Rosenberg from Florida – Senior Division (female), Estuardo Teran from Texas - Junior Division (male) and Fabiola Carillo from Illinois - Junior Division (female).  In the end, it was a wonderful opportunity to interact with so many Taekwondo enthusiasts from across North America.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the 3rd Annual PEAK PERFORMANCE Athlete Development Camp  in 2010 on Columbus Day weekend (October 9-10).
